          On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t

       18.th Sept.r 1770 Then received of the within Named Elijah Bishop the Sum of
       Ten Shillings Current Money for the Consideration within mentioned
       Witness Esther Sage
                    Marg.t Jane McMordie                                 Richard Bishop

       18.th Sep.r 1770  Then came Richard Bishop and Stephen Bordley Junior before me
       the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court & acknowledged
       the within Instrument of Writing to be their several and respective Act and
       Deed for the Uses therein mentioned also came then before us Mary the
       wife of the said Richard Bishop who being examined privately and
       apart from her said Husband did acknowledge the within Instrument
       of Writing to be her Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein
       mentioned to be Right and Estate of the within Named Elijah Bishop
       for the Uses Intents and Purposes within mentioned and did also Declare
       that she made this Acknowledgment freely and voluntarily without
       being induced thereto by Fear Threats or ill Usage of her said Husband
       or for fear of his Displeasure                           Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer

           This Indenture made the Twentyeth day of August in the Year of
       our Lord seventeen hundred and Seventy  Between John Burroughs
       and Mary his wife of Saint Marys County formerly Mary Keech of the
       one part and the Reverend John Stephen of said County Clerk of the other
       part Witnesseth that the said John Burroughs and Mary his Wife
       for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred Pounds Current
       Money to them in hand paid at or before the Ensealing and delivery of these
       Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for divers other good
       Causes and Considerations them thereunto moving more especially for the
       docking Barring and Extinguishing all Estates Tail and all Reversions
       and Remainders thereupon dependant of into or out of the Land hereafter
       described Have and each of them Hath granted bargained sold
       released and confirmed and by these Presents Do and each of them
       Doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto him the said
       John Stephen his Heirs and Assigns one Moiety or half part of a Tract
       or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County aforesaid
       called Charles Lott containing Three Hundred and thirty two Acres and one
       half Acre in the whole Tract together with all and Singular the
       Houses Edifices Buildings and Improvements to the aforesaid Moiety or
       half part of a Tract or parcel of Land belonging and the Reversions
       and Reversions Remainder and remainders Rents Issues and Profits
       thereof and every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate Right Title
       Interest use Trust Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the
       said John Burroughs and Mary his wife of into to or out of the
