448 apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge as aforesaid and did declare she made the said acknowledegment of her own free will and consent without being induced thereto by any threats or Compulsion of her said Husband or fear of his displeasure taken and acknowledged at Baltimore Town in Baltimore County aforesaid the day and year aforesaid before us two of the Justices of the peace of the said County Jn.o Smith W.m Buchanan Received the first day of March 1773 from W.m Lux and Bowly Two hundred pounds Nineteen Shillings and one Penny Current Money being the Consideration within mentioned to be by them paid to me Witness John Ross W.m Buchanan Baltimore County fs.t I hereby Certifie that John Smith and William Buchanan Gentlemen before whome the above Acknowledgement was taken and who hath subscribed their Names thereto was at the day of the Date thereof and still is two of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates given by them as sutch due faith and Credit is and Ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimoney whereof I have Hereunto set my hand and affixed seal the publick Seal of the County aforesaid this Seventh day of April Seventeen Hundred and Seventy three 12½ Sides A Lawson Clk of Baltimore Recorded the 8.th of April 1773 County Court x.d This Indenture made this Twenty seventh day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy three Between Daniel Hughes and Samuel Hughes of Frederick County in the province of Maryland Iron Masters of the one part and Daniel Mildred and John Roberts of Fenchurch Street London Merchants of the other part Witnesseth That the said Daniel Hughes and Samuel Hughes for and in Consideration of ^the sum of^ Four Thousand five Hundred pounds Sterling Money to them in hand paid by the said Daniel Mildred and John Roberts at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom and of and from every part or parcel thereof do release acquit and discharge the said Daniel Mildred and John Roberts their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and every of them by these presents Have given granted Bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Do give grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto them they said Daniel Mildred & John Roberts one undivided Moiety or half part of all and each and every the Iron Furnace and Forge lying and being in Frederick County in the Tenure Possession use or occupation of the aforesaid Daniel Hughes and Samuel Hughes and certain John Hughes and Barnabas Hughes or some of them and also one undivided Moiety or half part of all and each and every The Tracts or parcels of Land following to wit Long Tract containing Two Thousand five Hundred and Thirty three and an half acres more or |
