356 being by us privately examined out of the Hearing of her said Husband declar'd that she willingly reliquished her Right of Dower in the said Ground and Premisses without being induced thereto by Menaces of her said Husband or the Fear of incurring his Displeasure Taken and acknowledged before us John Burgess Jun Thomas Dorsey Rec.d August y.e 31.st 1772 of Sampson Levy by the Hands of Daniel Chamier one hundred and forty two pounds Sterling being the Consideration of executing the above Deed John Burgess Jun Basil Burgess Received the 16.th day of Nov.r 1772 of M.r Sampson Levey the sum of one penny Thomas Dorsey Sterling for an Alienation fine due to Lord Baltimore by Virtue of a Commission from Dan.l of Saint Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and receiver General 10 sides Jn.o Brice Recorded September 8.th 1772 Ex.d This Indenture made the twentieth Day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Between Daniel Charles Heath of Cæcil County and Mary his Wife of the first Part Thomas Jenings of the second Part and John Henry of the third Part Witnesseth that the said Daniel Charles Heath and Mary his Wife for the barring all Estates tail and Remainders over of and in the Lands and Premisses hereinafter mentioned and for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Sterling Money to them in Hand paid by the said Thomas Jenings at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for divers other good Causes and Considerations them the said Daniel Charles Heath and Mary his Wife moving have bargained and sold and by these Presents do bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Jenings his Heirs and Assigns all those Tracts or Parcells of plantable Land following that is to say all that Prat of plantable Land called the loveing Brothers containing five hundred and thirty five Acres and all that Tract of plantable Land called Clear Doubt containing eighty Acres with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Charles County To have & to hold the said Tracts or Parcells of Land (and) |
