301 will more fully appear To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land and all and singular the Appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said Edward Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever to the only proper Use and Behoof of him the said Edward Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns forever And the said Charles Carroll doth hereby covenant and grant for himself and his Heirs that he the said Charles Carroll and his Heirs the said Tract or Parcel of Land and Premisses with all and singular the Appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said Edward Dorsey and his Heirs against him the said Charles Carroll and his Heirs and against all persons claiming by from or under them shall and will forever warrant and defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the said Charles Carroll hath hereto set his Hand and seal the Day and first above mentioned Signed sealed and delivered Cha Carroll (Seal) in Presence of Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer (On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorsed to Wit) Jn.o Leeds Be it remembered that on the twenty sixth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one came the within mentioned Charles Carroll before me one of his Lordships Justices of the provincial Court and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Estate and Right of the within named Edward Dorsey and his Heirs according to the Intent and Effect of the same Deed Taken and certified according to the Act of Assembly The Day and Year above mentioned by me Dan of S Tho.s Jenifer Received the Day of the Date of the within written Indenture from the within named £ Sterling Edward Dorsey the Sum of three hundred and twenty one Pounds two Shillings and nine 321 2 9 Pence Sterling being the Consideration within mentioned to be paid by him to me Witness Received by me Cha Carroll Dan of S Tho.s Jenifer Received of M.r Edward Dorsey son John the sum of two Pounds two Shillings and one half penny Sterling for the Use of Lord Baltimore, it being the Alienation Money on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan, Esq.r his said Lordships late Agent and receiver General J Brice Recorded the 23.rd Day of March 1772 X.d This Indenture made the ninth Day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Between John Lee of Essex County in the Colony of Virginia and 8½ sides Susanna his Wife and George Lee of Charles County in the Province of Maryland and Chloe his Wife of the one Part and Lettice Thompson of Prince George County in the Province aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the Sum of fifty Pounds to the said John lee and the Sum of one hundred Pounds Inspection Currency of the Province aforesaid to the said George Lee to them and each of hem respectively paid by the said Lettice Thomson at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part and Parcel thereof do exonerate, acquit, and discharge the said Lettice Thompson her Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these Presents have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, and confirmed, and by these Presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Lettice Thomson Six hundred Acres of Land with the Appurtenances, scituate, lying and being in Dorchester County in the Province aforesaid devised to the said John Lee and George Lee by the Will of their Father Philip Lee Esq.r deceased out of a larger Tract of Land commonly called and known (by) |
