261 and four Pounds eight Shillings and two Pence Sterling and two thousand four hundred and ninety one Pounds seventeen Shillings and seven Pence Current Money Samuel Chase Test Ja Tilghman 3.d Rob.t Couden Ann Arundel County to wit July 27.th 1771 Then came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordship's Justices of the Peace for Ann Arundel County afd the within Samuel Chase and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lot or Parcell of Ground and Premises with the Appurtenances within mentioned to be bargained and sold by him to be the Right and Estate of the within named Edward Lloyd his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent & Meaning of the within Deed and of the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Also at the same Time came before us Anne Chase Wife of the within Samuel Chase and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing and the Lot or Parcell of Ground & Premises with the Appurtenances within mentioned to be bargained & sold to be the Right and Estate of the same Edward Lloyd his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and of the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided free & absolutely discharged from any Right or Title of Dower of an in her the same Anne Chase And We hereby certify that at the the Time of taking the above Acknowledgment of the said Anne Chase we examined the same Anne Chase privately out of the Hearing of her said Husband and that she then made and declared that she made her Acknowledgment of the same Deed willingly & freely & without being induced thereto by Fear or Threats of or ill Usage by her Husband or Fear of his Displeasure The above acknowledgment taken & certified by R Ghiselin Rob.t Couden Recorded the 11th Day of October 1771 X.d Maryland sct This Indenture made this twelfth Day of November one thousand seven hundred & seventy one Between Benjamin Talbott and Sarah Talbott of Ann Arundel County and Province aforesaid of the one Part & Richard Warfield of Frederick County & Province aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Benjam & Sarah Talbott for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Sterling Money of Great Britain to them in Hand paid by the said Richard Warfield or secured to be paid at or before the Ensealing & Delivering of these Presents the Reciet whereof they the said Benjamin & Sarah Talbott doth acknowledge & themselves therewith to be fully sattisfyed contented & paid & hath therefore given granted (bargin'd) |
