234 or Justices and upon all Suits or Actions that may be brought against me as Son & Heir at Law of my late Father George Gordon & particularly to all those Actions that are or may be commenced by any of my late Fathers Credittors against me and the Devisees aforesaid in such Manner as my said Attorney in his best Descretion shall think proper Also for my said Attorney for me and in my Name by all lawfull ways and means to recover and Possess himself of all Lands Goods and Chattels Rights and Credits that I am any ways entitled to by Inheritance or otherwise, and the same to dispose of at his best Descretion be the same in Maryland or else where in America ^also to compound conclude^ Agree by Arbitration or otherwise as my said Attorney shall think fit and generally in and concerning the Premises to do perform and execute all whatsoever shall be requisite & necessary as fully amply and effectually to all Intents Constructions & Purposes as if I the said John Gordon might or could do if personally present with Power to substitute one or more Attorneys with like or limited Power & the same again to revoke I the said John Gordon hereby ratifying & holding for good and valid all & whatsoever the said Stephen West his Heirs Executors & Adm.rs his or their Substitutes his or their Heirs Execut.rs or Adm.rs shall do or cause to be done in the Premises hereby revoking and making void all & every Power heretofore granted by me the said John Gordon to any other Person than to the said Stephen West his Heirs Execut.rs & Adm.rs his and their Substitutes In Witness whereof I the said John Gordon hath hereunto set my Hand & Seal in Maryland this fifth Day of November seventeen hundred & sixty eight Sealed and delivered in the Presence of John Gordon (seal) John MacPherson Thomas Gassaway Jun.r Ann Arundel County sc.t September 20.th 1771 Came Thomas Gassaway J.r before me and made Oath that he saw John Gordon sign seal & deliver the above Power of Attorney in Presence of this Deponent and of John M.cPherson who as well as this Deponent subscribed as witness thereto Sworn before Rob.t Couder Recorded the 20th Day of September 1771 ½ 9½ sides |
