228 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorst to wit Received on the Day and Year first within written of and from the within named Thomas Shaw otherwise called Gash the Sum of two hundred and ten Pounds Current Money being the Consideration Money therein mentioned to be by him paid to me I say Reced by Thomas Burgin Witness Baker Johnson Received on the Day and Year first within written of and from the within Thomas Shaw otherwise called Gash by each of us the Sum of five Shillings Current Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by him paid to us respectively we say reced by Witness Ferd iando Battee Baker Johnson Benjamin Baxter On the nineteenth Day of September seventeen hundred and seventy one came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named Thomas Burgen Ferdinando Batty, Benjamin Baxter Thomas Shaw otherwise called Gash and Thomas Johnson and severally acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be their respective Act and Deed to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes mentioned in the same Deed according to the true Intent and meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided W.m Hayward Recorded the 19th Day of September 1771 14 sides X.d To all to whom these Presents shall come Anthony Richardson of the City of London Merchant (eldest Son and Heir at Law of Anthony Richardson formerly of Talbot County in the Province of Maryland in North America Gentleman deceased) and Hannah his wife send Greeting Whereas the said Anthony Richardson the Father in and by his last will and Testament in writing duly executed and attested bearing Date on or about the nineteenth Day of November in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and forty (amongst other Things) gave devised and bequeathed unto his well beloved son the said Anthony Richardson (Party hereto) that Tract of Land lying in Talbot County called the Addition Also the Water Mill at the Head of Kings Creek known by the Name of Pitts's Mill also a small Tract of Land called Mount Hope and also a Tract of Land called Wargan's Reserve all lying in Talbot County aforesaid To hold the same Tracts of Land and Mill unto his said Son Anthony and the Heirs of his Body lawfully begotten for ever He also gave devised and bequeathed unto his said Son Anthony Richardson a Tract of Land called Providence containing two hundred and fifty acres lying in Dorchester County and to the Heirs of his Body lawfully begotten for ever as in and by the said in Part recited will Registred in Book DD N.o folio 3 (Reference) |
