(86) in the Law Shall be Reasonably devised Advised or Required In Witness Whereof the Partie first above Named hath hereunto Set his hand & affixed his Seal the Day & year first above Written Sign's Seal'd & Delivered In the Presence of his John Burgess Jun.r Sewell U Young (Seal) mark H Ridgley April 19.th 1766 Then Came before us Two of his Lordships Justices for Ann Arundel County Court the within named Sewell Young and acknowledg'd the within Indenture to be his Act & Deed and the Land & Premisses therein Mentioned to be the Right & Estate of the within Named Edward Dorsey his heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns forever At the same time Came Margaret the wife of the said Sewell Young Who being Privately Examined out of the hearing of her said Husband free acknowledged that she Gave up all her Right & Title of Dower to the within Mentioned Land & Premisses to the said Edward Dorsey his heirs Execu.rs Administrators & Assigns forever without any Theats or Fear of the Displeasure of her Said husband Taken & Acknowledged before the day & year abovesaid John Burgess jun.r 10 Sides Recorded 13.th Day of May 1766 H Ridgley Ex.d I Elie Valette as Clerk in the Secretarys Office do Swear that I will not for Lucre or malice delay any Person or persons applying to me for any Business belonging to the office I officiate in and that I will not directly or indirectly ask demand take or receive from or charge to any such Person or Persons to my own use (Except my salary from my Principal) any Fee or Reward whatsoever, for any Service I shall do as Clerk of the said office And also that in making out the Office Fees I will not wittingly or willingly charge other or higher Fees than limited by the act entituled An Act for Amending the Staple of Tobacco for preventing Frauds in his majestys customs and for the Limitation of Officers Fees Recorded 19.th May 1766 W.m Steuart Ex.d I James Dixon as Register of the prerogative office do swear that I will not for Lucre or malice delaying person or persons applying to me for any Business belonging to the office I officiate in, and that I will not directly or indirectly, ask demand take or receive from or charge to any such person (or) |
