727 Receiv'd of Basil Magruder the Sum of four Shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation Fine on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent & receiver General Jn.o Brice Recorded 24.th April 1770 9 Sides X.d This Indenture made this twenty third day of April in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy Between Bennett Matthews of Baltimore County in Maryland Mariner of the one part and Amos Garrett of the same County and Province and Aquila Hall of the same County and Province Merchants of the other part Witnesseth that the said Bennett Matthews for and in Consideration of the sum of Five hundred Pounds Current Money paid by the said Amos Garrett and the sum of Two hundred and twenty five Pounds Current Money paid by the said Aquila Hall amounting in the whole to the sum of seven hundred and twenty five Pounds Current Money to the said Bennett Matthews in hand paid at and before the Ensealing and Deliver of these Presents the receipt whereof the said the said Bennett Matthews doth hereby acknowledge & himself therewith fully Satisfied and Paid he the said Bennett Matthews hath granted bargained and sold and by these Presents Doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Amos Garrett and Aquila Hall as Tennants in Common and not as Joint Tennants their Heirs Exers Admrs or Assigns the following Lands to wit the United Lot Part of Saint Georges Neighbour part of Pearsons Park and part of Bonners Purchase lying and being in the County aforesaid on Bynam's Runn & the Branches thereof as Appertained unto the said Bennett Matthews by the Divise of his Father Roger Matthews and his Brother James Matthews Deceased and which by Deeds of Partition Between the said Bennett Mathews and Leven Mathews are to him the said Bennett (for the Three Last Tracts aforementioned Assertained Reference to the said Deeds for the Meets and Bounds thereof may appear &.c with the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainder to the said Lands belonging or in any wise Appertaining To Have and to Hold all and Singular the said Lands and Premises hereby granted with their and every of their Rights Members and Appurtenances unto the said Amos Garrett and Aquila Hall as Tennants in Common and not as Joint Tennants their Heirs Exrs Admrs and Assigns for ever Provided always and upon this Condition that if the said Bennett Mathews his Heirs Exrs Admrs or Assigns do well & truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Amos Garrett his Exrs Admrs or Assigns the just and full sum of Five hundred Pounds Current Money and the Interest thereof as by the Certain Writing Obligatory bearing date this sixth day of this Instant he the said Bennett Mathews stands Obliged to Perform and doe and unto the said Aquila his Exrs Admrs or Assigns the just and full Sum of Two hundred and twenty five Pounds Current Money and the Interest thereof as by the Certain Writing Obligatory bearing date the Sixth Day of this Instant Also he the said Bennett Mathews stands Obliedged to Perform and doe both which Sums Inclusive Amounting unto |
