628 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Novem.r y.e 24.th 1769 Recevd of Benjamin Gassaway the Sum of Forty pounds Currant Money it being the Consideration of the within Land and Premesses Test David Lynn Will.m Aldredge Tho Price Frederick Coty Nov.r y.e 24.th 1769 Then Came before us two of his Lordships Justices of Fredericks County the within named Will.m Aldredge and Acknowledged teh within Indenture to be his Act and Deed adn the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within Named Benjamin Gassaway his Heirs and Assigns for ever and of the same Time Came Mary the Wife of the said William Aldredge who being by us Privately Examend out of the Hearing of her said Husband freely Acknowledged that she gave up all her Right and Title of Dower to the within mentioned Land adn Premisses to the said Benjamin Gassaway his Heirs and Assigns for ever withoute any threats or fear of the Displeasure of her said Husband Taken & Acknowledged before us the Date and Year above said David Lynn Tho Price Maryland Frederick County fs.t I Hereby Certify that David Lynn and Thomas Price Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgment was taken were L S at the time of taking the same and still are two of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid duly and Legally Authorized and Assigned &.c and that to all Acknowledgments by them so taken & Signed due faith and Credit is and ought to be given in Justice Court & thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Affixed the Publick Seal of the County aforesaid the 24.th day of November 1769 Tho.s Spriff Clk of Fred.k County Court 1769 November 28.th Rec.d of M.r Benjamin Gassaway seven Shillings and two pence Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within land and by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esquire his said Lordships Agent & Receiver General J Brice Recorded 28.th November 1769 8 Sides Ex.d Maryland fs.t Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the 9 Sides Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &.c To all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting Know Ye that We reposing special Trust and Confidence in teh Capacity Care Prudence and Fedelity of John Morton Jordan of the City of Annapolis in Our Province of Maryland, Esquire, Have made constituted, ordained Authorized and Appointed, And by these Presents Do make constitute, ordain, authorize and Appoint him teh said John Morton Jordan Esq.r to be our Chief Agent Escheator and Receiver (General) |
