(525) Use and Behoof for Ever and to or for no Other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever And the said Benjamin and Richard Gassaway for themselves and their heirs Respectively the aforesaid two hundred Acres of Land and Premisses with the Appurtenances hereby Bargained and Sold or Intended so to be unto him the said William Hall his heirs and Assigns against all and all Manner of persons Whatsoever Claiming or to Claim the Same Shall and will warrant and for Ever defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the Parties aforesaid have hereunto Sett their hands and Seals the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered Benjamin Gassaway (Seal) in the Presence of us Richard Gassaway (Seal) Jn.o Dorsey Henry Hall On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit March 6 1769 Received of William Hall of Elkridge the Sum of two hundred and ten pounds Current Money in full for the Consideration of the within 210 Deed the day and year within written Witnesses Jn.o Dorsey Benjamin Gassaway Henry Hall Richard Gassaway On the 6 day of March 1769 Then Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordship's Justices of the Peace for Ann Arundel County the within Named Benjamin and Richard Gassaway and Acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be their Act and Deed and the two hundred Acres of Land therein Mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within Named William Hall his heirs and Assigns According to the true Intent and Meaning thereof at the same time Ruth Gassaway wife of the above Benjamin and Elizabeth Gassaway wife of the above Richard who being Privately Examined out of the hereing of there ^said^ husbands freely and Voluntaeily Acknowledged and Relinquish'd their and Each of their Rights of Dower of in & to the within Lands and Premisses unto the within Named William Hall his heirs & Assigns and Declared that they did the same of their Own free will without being induced theirto by threats from their said husbands or for fear of their displeasure Taken by Jn.o Dorsey Henry Hall 1769 March 15.th Rec.d of M.r W.m Hall the Sum of Eight Shillings Sterling (for) |
