(39) and she being examined by me privately out of the hearing of her said Husband did declare that she made her said acknowledgment willingly and freely without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of or ill usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure Jn.o Ijams 13¼ s.ds Sam.l Chew Recorded 31.st October 1765 Examined Annarundel County in Maryland To Wit This Indenture made this Thirty first day of October in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand seven hundred and sixty five Between Sophia Galloway of the County and Province aforesaid Gentleman of the one part and Stephen Watkins of the same County and Province Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Sophia Galloway for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and twenty five Pounds Sterling Money to her in hand paid by the said Stephen Watkins at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Sophia Galloway doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom and of and from every part and parcell thereof doth by these presents for ever release acquit Exonerate and Discharge the said Stephen Watkins his Heirs Executors and Administrators Hath given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed And by these Presents She the said Sophia Galloway doth for herself and her Heirs Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said Stephen Watkins his Heirs and Assigns for Ever all those Three Tracts or parcells of Land herein after mentioned That is to say all that Tract or parcell of Land called the Triangle which was on the tenth day of April one thousand six hundred and seventy one Patented to a certain Robert Lockwood lying in Annarundel County scituated and being to the northward of Annarundel Manor bounded on the South by the said Manor and running by a direct Line from the Southwestermost Corner bounded tree of a parcell of Land formerly laid out for Thomas Taylor called the Hole unto the Southwestermost Corner bounded Tree of a parcell of Land called Hookers purchase formerly in Possession of Cap.t Thomas Harwood bounded on the north west by the said |
