(311) To receive and take a Grant or Release of the Premisses hereby bargained and sold or mentioned or Intended to be hereby bargained and sold to him and his Heirs in such sort Manner and Form as in and by one Indenture intended to bear Date the Day next after the Day of the Date of these Presents the same shall be granted released and conveyed In Witness whereof the said John Hawkins and Dorothy his wife John Baker and Judith his wife and William Wilson and Charity his wife have hereto set their Hands the Day and year first above written Sealed and delivered in Presence of Jn.o Hawkins (seal) Geo Lee Thomas Love Dorothy Hawkins (seal) Richard Beall Joseph Wilson John Baker (seal) Judith Baker (seal) William Willson (seal) Charity Willson (seal) 4½ Sides Recorded the 22.d Day of October 1767 Ex.d This Indenture Tripartite made this twenty second Day of Septem.r in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven Between John Hawkins of Charles County and Dorothy his Wife one of the Daughters of Peter Wood late of Charles County Deceased John Baker of Frederick County and Judith his wife one other of his Daughters of the said Peter Wood and William Willson of Frederick County aforesaid and Charity his Wife one other of the Daughters of the said Peter Wood of the first part William Cooke of the City of Annapolis of the second part and Thomas Jenings of the same City of the third Part Witnesseth that the said John Hawkins and Dorothy his wife John Baker and Judith his wife and William Willson and Charity his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of five shillings sterling to them severally in Hand paid by the said William Cooke at or before the ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have given granted released and confirmed and by these Presents Do give grant release and confirm unto the said William Cooke All that Tract or Parcel of Land called Part of Saint Thomas lying in Charles County containing by Estimation two hundred and thirty one and an half Acres and also all that Tract or parcel of Land called Woods Addition to Saint Thomas lying in the said County containing by Estimation Thirty Acres which said several Parcels of Land were devised to the said Dorothy Judith and Charity by the aforesaid Peter Wood by the Name and Description of his Dwelling Plantation together with his Land adjoining and lying in Piles's Swamp in Charles County aforesaid late in the Tenure or occupation of the said John Hawkins and Dorothy his wife John Baker and Judith his wife and William Willson and Charity his wife (but now all in the actual Possession of the said William Cooke by Force of an Indenture of Bargain and sale thereof made bearing Date the Day before (the) |
