          June 3.d 1767   Came before us the Subscribers two of the Justices of peace
       for Saint Marys County the within James Tilghman George Carpenter
       and Elisha Rawlings and Sarah his Wife and severally Acknowledged the
       within Instrument of Writing to be their several and respective Acts & Deeds
       and the Lands and Premisses therein specified to be the right and Estate of
       the same George Carpenter his Heirs and Assigns according to the true
       intent and meaning thereof And we do further Certify that the said Sarah
       before she made the above Acknowledgment being privately Examined by us
       apart and out of the hearing of her said Husband declared that made the
       same willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fear threats
       or ill usage of her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure agreeable to
       the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided            Barnhouse
                                                                                                   Jn.o Eden

       Saint Marys County (to wit)   I hereby Certify that Messieurs
       Richard Barnhouse and John Eden Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgments
       were made and who have thereto respectively Subscribed their Names
       were at the time of the making same and still are two of his Lordships
       the Right Honorable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the Peace for the
       County aforesaid duly Authorized and Assigned and to all Certificates given
       by them as such due faith and Credit is and ought to be given in Justice
       Court and thereout
                                In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand
             L S             and affixed the Public Seal of the County aforesaid the
                               seventh Day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand
                               seven hundred and sixty seven     Benjamin Young Clk
