(140) Therein named and his heirs should and shall stand and be seised of and in the recovered premisses and every part and parcell thereof to and for the only proper use and Behoof of him the said James Smith his heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered J Rogers (seal) in the presence of us James Smith (seal) Amos Garret, Geo Tubman On The Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written Viz.t Received on the day and year first within written of and from the within named James Smith the sum of five Shillings Current Money being the Consideration Money within Mentioned to be by him paid to me I say received by me Witness Amos Garrett, Geo Tubman J Rogers On the Twenty third day of October Seventeen hundred and Sixty Six Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named John Rogers and James Smith and Acknowledged the within writing to be their respective Act and Deed to and for the uses intents and purposes within mentioned and the Lands and premisses therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the said James Smith his heirs and assigns for ever according to the True intent and meaning of the same writing and the act of assembly in such Case made and provided Before me JBeale Bordley 6 sides Recorded 23.d October 1766 x.d This Indenture made the Twenty fifth day of September in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty Six Between Samuel Chew of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman and Philemon Lloyd Chew of Queen Anns County in the said Province Gentleman of the one part and William Paca of the City of Annapolis Attorney at Law of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of Five Shillings of Lawfull Money of Great Britain to the Said Samuel Chew and Philemon Lloyd Chew in hand at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents by the said William Paca well and Truly paid the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged they the ^Same^ Samuel Chew and Philemon Lloyd Chew have bargained and sold and by these Presents do bargain and Sell unto the said William Paca All that Tract or parcell of Land Called Lloyds Insula Scituate lying and being (in) |
