Examined This Indenture Made this twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and sixty five by and Between Anthony Asher of Baltimore County Planter on the one part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Barrister on the other part Witnesseth that the said Anthony Asher for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Charles Carroll the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and for Diverse other Good Causes and Considerations him thereunto moving hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed Released and Confirmed and by these presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff Release and Confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll his heirs and assigns for ever all that Tract or Parcell of Land lying and being in Baltimore County aforesaid Left him by his Father Anthony Asher being one full half part or moiety of a Tract or Parcell of Land lying in Baltimore County aforesaid on Salt Petre Creek that Issues out of Gun Powder River called Ashers Purchase Granted to Anthony Asher being a Resurvey on Chaduels Range and Groces Priviledge and containing and laid out for two hundred and twenty acres Beginning South to a small Marked Red Oak still due south to another marked oak then south thirteen Degrees west a cross the aforesaid Land to the outermost Line next to Carrolls Quarters as by the will of his Father Anthony Asher may appear containing one hundred and ten acres More or Less with all the right Title Interest and Claim Either in Law or Equity to the same together with its appurtenances to have and to hold unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns forever all the said Tract or Parcell of Land being one full half part or moiety of the said Tract called Ashers Purchase with its appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Charles Carroll his heirs and assigns for ever and to and for no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever and the said Anthony Asher Doth Covenant and Agree with him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns that he the said Charles Carroll his heirs and assigns shall and may have hold and enjoy the said Land and Premisses free from all Incumbrances and Claims whatsoever and warranted and for ever Defend as well against him the said Anthony Asher and his heirs as against all and every other Person or Persons whatsoever In Witness Whereof and the foregoing Premisses the said Parties to these |
