324 the Land and Premisses with the appurtenances therein disposed of by them to be the Right and Estate of the within named Charles Hammond his Heirs and assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of said Deed, and the act of assembly in such case made and provided: And the said Anne Pumphrey Wife to said Joseph being privately Examined by me out of the hearing of her Husband declared that she made the above acknowledgment willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by Force or Threats of ill usage or fear of his Displeasure Geo Steuart 10 s.d Recorded the 17.th day of March 1763 Examd Know all Men by these presents that I Johanah Bolton of Frederick County & Province of Maryland Widow for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds Sterling money to her in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents by John Gaither of Ann Arundel County & province aforesaid Wherewith I acknowledge myself fully satisfied and paid and thereof and of every part thereof do hereby acquit exonerate and discharge the said John Gaither his heirs Executors administrators and assigns have granted Bargained & sold and by these presents do clearly and absolutely grant Bargain and sell unto the said John Gaither the Two following Negro Men Viz Jemey & Lewis To have and To hold the aforesaid Two Negroes so as aforesaid Bargained and sold unto him the said John Gaither his Heirs Executors adm.rs or assigns for ever and the said Johanah Bolton for herself her Executors and adm.rs |
