(4) Gentlemen are held and firmly bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of the Province aforesaid in the Sum of Two hundred pounds Current Money of the aforesaid Province to be paid to the aforesaid Lord Proprietary or his sucessors which Payment well and truly to be made and Done we do bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of us Jointly and severally in the whole and for the whole firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this 2.d day of March 1759 the Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound Charles Dickinson whilst he shall continue in the Office of receiver or Collector of the Land Tax in Dorchester County shall well and faithfully execute and perform the several Duties Required of him to be performed by the Act of Assembly of this Province Entituled and Act for Granting a Supply of Forty thousand pounds for his Majestys Service and Striking thirty four thousand and fifteen pounds six shillings thereof in Bills of Credit and raising a fund for sinking the same and do well and faithfully pay to the commissioners of the Loan Office for the Time being the several Sums of Money which he shall receive or be answerable for in Virtue of the Same Act at such times as by the said Act is directed according to the true intent and meaning thereof then the above Obligation to be void and of no Effect otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us Cha Dickinson (seal) Charles Eccleston William Willson Zabdiel Potter (seal) Tho Taylor (Seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Bond was thus Written to wit Dorchester County March the Second 1759 Then came the within named Charles Eccleston and William Willson subscribing Witnesses to the within Bond before us Two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and made Oath that they saw the within named Charles Dickinson Zabdiel Potter and Thomas Taylor Sign Seal and Deliver the within Bond sworn to the day and year above written before 4 sides Recorded 6.th August 1759 Dan Sulivane Rob.t Polk |
