       In fath and Testimony whereof I the said Lord Provost and Chief Magistrate
       of the city aforesaid have subscribed these presents and have also
LS  caused the Common Seal of the said City of Glasgow to be hereunto put  
       and affixed dated in Glasgow the eighth day of October one thousand
       seven hundred and fifty nine years

       At a court held for Essex County at Tapp.a the 18.th day of February
       1760  This power of attorney was this Day presented in Court and
       proved by the Oaths of the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded

       by this publick Instrument of Procuration or Letter of Attorney be it
LS  known that on the eighteenth Day of April in the year of our Lord
       one thousand seven hundred and sixty one Before me Abraham Ogier
       Notary Publick dwelling in London duly Admitted and Sworn and
       in the presence of the Witnesses hereafter named Personally appeared
       M.r Thomas Philpot of London Merchant to me Notary well known
       who Declared to have made ordained and constituted and by these presents
       doth make ordain and constitute M.r Kinsey Johns of West River
       in Maryland Merchant his true and Lawfull Attorney Giving
       and by these presents Granting unto his said Attorney full power
       and lawfull authority for him the said constituent in his name in
       his own Right and also in Quality of Sole Executor of the last Will
       and Testament of M.r Brian Philpot late of London Merchant
       deceased and to and for his the said constituents own use and
       behoof to ask Demand sue for and by all Lawfull ways and
       means recover and receive of and from all and every person and Persons
       whom it shall or may concern all such sum and sums of Money
