       immediately amongst the Land Records of the Provincial Court

          Duty paid      Know all Men by these presents that we John Ridout
             L S        and John Ross Esquires and Doctor Upton Scott of the City
  John Brice Cl    of Annapolis are held and firmly bound unto the Right
       Honourable the Lord Proprietary of the Province of Maryland in the full
       and just sum of Three thousand pounds current money to be paid to his said
       Lordship his Heirs and successors to which payment well and truly to be
       made and done We and every of us hereby bind ourselves and every of us our and
       every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly
       by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this twenty seventh day
       of June in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and sixty one

                The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound
       John Ridout whilste he shall continue in the Office of Commissary General
       shall at his own proper cost and charge find a Supply of Good and
       Sufficient Record Books necessary for the entring up of all matters and
       things relating to such Commissarys Office and shall and will make or
       cause to be made and entered true legal and perfect Records and Entries
       according to the Truth and nature of the matter or thing requiring to be
       Entered or Recorded and shall duly and carefully look after sustain preserve
       repair and maintain all the severall Books Papers and Records now being
       and remaining in the said office shall be added thereunto in
       such manner as that in case of Death or that he shall be legally dismissed
       from officiating longer in the said office he the said John Ridout his
       Executors or Administrators shall surrender and deliver up or cause
