(206) x.d This Indenture made this tenth day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one Between Charles Carroll of Ann Arundel County Esq.r of the one Part and John Brunts of Baltimore County Planter of the other Part Whereas by Indenture of Mortgage bearing date the tenth day of April in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty three and mentioned to be made Between Philip Edwards of Baltimore County Planter of the one Part and John Brice of the City of Annapolis in Ann Arundel County Esq.r of the other Part He the said Philip Edwards for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifteen Pounds Sterling Money Twenty Seven Pounds Current Money and one thousand Pounds of Inspected Tobacco acknowledged to be paid by the said John Brice and duly received by the said Philip Edwards did give grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said John Brice his Heirs and Assigns forever all those two Tracts or Parcels of Land lying in Baltimore and Ann Arundel Countys the one called Edwards Hope well containing twenty one Acres of Land which was afterwards resurveyed and called Edwards Discovery containing Three hundred and fifty Acres of Land more or less and the other Tract of Land lying in Ann Arundel County called Edwards's Lott containing fifty Acres of Land more or less also a servant Man named Samuel Sewell having near four years to Serve a Dutchman named William Sloverish his Wife named Magdalen and son named George Sloverish also thirteen head of Black Cattle marked with a Crop & Staple fork in the right Ear and Crop and two Slits in the left Ear To be hand and Holden by the said John Brice his Heirs and Assigns forever Subject however to the Provisoes and Covenants expressed in the said Deed of Mortgage declared to be duly Executed Acknowledged and Recorded in the Provincial Records Lib E I N.o 12 fol 343 344 & 345 as Reference being had thereto more fully will appear And Whereas the said John Brice for and in consideration of the Sums of Seventeen Pounds and four Pence half Penny Sterling and Thirty Six Pounds six shillings Currency to him in Hand paid by the said Charles Carroll the (same) |
