(170) the Nature of the Matter or Things requiring to be entred or Recorded and shall duly and carefully look after Sustain preserve repair and maintain all the Several Books Papers and Records now being and remaining in the said Office as also all those that from time to time during his continuance in the said office shall be added thereunto in such manner as that in Case of Death or that he shall be Legally dismissed from officiating longer in the said office he the said John Ridout his Executors or Administrators shall surrender or deliver up or cause to be surrendered or delivered up to the next Person who shall succeed him in the said Secretarys Office all the Papers and Record Books which shall be by him added in like good order and repair with the Records and Entries faithfully legally and truly made up and entred during the Time he hath officiated in the said Secretarys Office without favour or affection but according to the Truth the Nature of the Thing and the duty of his Function and all other the Duties of his said office legally duly and faithfully shall discharge according to Law and the true intent and meaning of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and Provided that then the above obligation to be void and of none Effect or else to be and remain in full Force and Virtue in Law Signed Sealed and Delivered J Ridout (seal) In the Presence of Alex.r Williamson J Ross (seal) John Cox U Scott (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing Bond was thus written Viz.t 31.st Oct.r 1760 Then Came Alexander Williamson and John Cox before us Two of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and Severally made Oath 5 sides that they saw the within bounden John Ridout John Ross and Upton Scott Execute the within written Bond You are hereby required immediately to record in the Prov.l Land Records the within Bond Jn.o Brice together with the above written endorsment To the Clerk of the Prov.l Court Jn.o Brice Geo Steuart Geo Steuart Recorded 1.st Nov.r 1760 |
