       them the said James Moore and Robert Wilmott respectively and the said James
       Moore and Robert Wilmott also made Oath that they did severally see the
       said William Lyon sign the Receipt above endorsed in the name of and as
       attorney for the said David Jameson and tat the names of James Moore &
       Robert Wilmott subscribed as witnesses thereto are of this proper Hand

       Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore   To
Hor.o    John Ridout of the City of Annapolis Esquire Greeting We reposing
Sharpe  especial Trust and Confidence in the Integrity Care and Circumspection of
The       you the said John Ridout do by Virtue of the Power given in the Letters
Great seal   Patent from King Charles the first to Cecilius Baron of Baltimore
       his Heirs and Assigns of the Province of Maryland and by these
       Presents Constitute and appoint you the said John Ridout Deputy
       Secretary of the Province of Maryland with full power and Authority
       you the Said John Ridout to execute the said Office of Deputy Secretary
       and to do and perform all other acts usually done by the former Deputy
       Secretarys of the Province aforesaid And We do hereby further impower
       you the said John Ridout to receive all Perquisites Fees and Advantages
       whatsoever to the said Office of Deputy Secretary belonging or in any
       wise appertaining in as full and ample Manner as any Person or
       Persons heretofore have held or enjoyed or ought to have hold and
       enjoy the same  To have hold exercise and enjoy the said Office
       and to take and receive all Such Fees Perquisites and Advantages as
       aforesaid unto you the said John Ridout during our Will and pleasure
       Witness our trusty and well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esquire Lieutenant
       General and Chief Governor of our Said Province this Eighteenth Day of
       October in the Eleventh year of our Dominion Annoq Domini 1760
