93) Philadelphia in parts beyond the seas Merchant John French of Newcastle in Pensilvania in parts beyond the seas Merchant William Watts deced and Patrick Andrew of Putuxen Merchant in Maryland and Bernard Townsend and severall other persons in Maryland and other parts beyond the seas and great sumes of Money are in those places or some of them oweing by severall persons to the said Thomas Couts And Whereas by an Inquisition taken before Sir Frances Forbes Knight and Joshua Sharp Knight sherriff of the county of Middlesex the thirtieth day of January in the twelfth Year of her said Majesties Reign by Virtue of an Extent under the seal of her late Majestys Court of Exchecquer at Westminster directed unto the said sherriff against the said Thomas Couts grounded upon severall Bonds wherein he stands bound to her late Majesty Queen Anne of Great Brittain &c.a for the Duties and Customes of Goods by him entred in the Port of London upon which Bonds there was due to her late Majesty the sume of twenty thousand pounds & upwards It was found upon the oaths of twelve men of the said county of Middlesex amongst other things that the said William Trent of Philadelphia in parts beyond the seas Merchant was indebted to the said Thomas Couts in two thousand pounds for so much Money had and Received by the said William Trent for the use of the said Thomas Couts and that the said John French of Newcastle in Pensilvania in Parts |
