77) On y.e back of the aforegoing conveyance was thus endorst (viz.t) Sealed & Delivered in the presence of Tho Cockshutt Robert Tarman Mem.d that on the third Day of Decem.r Anno Dom One thousand seven hundred & Nineteen came before me John Mackall one of his Lordshipps Justices of his Prov.ll Court of Maryland the within named Thomas Padgett & John Baggby some of the partys to these presents & acknowledged the within written Indenture to be their act & deed & the Lands & premisses therein mentioned to be the Right of the within William Meades & John Meades according to the true intent & meaning of the same Indenture and the Heirs & Assignes of the s.d William & John And at the same time appeared Elizabeth the Wife of the afd Thomas Padgett & Mary the Wife of the s.d John Baggby who being by me secretly examined out of the hearing of their s.d Husbands did severally Acknowledge & Declare that they gave up all their Right Title and Interest which they or either of them have or hath to the within mentioned Land & premisses or ever ought to have without any compulsion threats or fear of either of their said Husbands Displeasure unto them the said William Meades and John Meades their Heirs & Assignes forever according to the true intent & meaning of this Indenture ^as^ afd In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name the Day & Year abovesaid Jn.o Mackall Recorded Aprill 28 1720 |
