228 The Date hereof in his Majestys Court holden befor us in the Chamber of the Guildhall of the same city personally came and appeared James Fitzgerard formerly of Waterford in Ireland but Now of London in Great Brittain gentleman being a parson well Knowne and worthy of Good Creditt and ^did^ by solemne oath which he Took upon the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God before us then and There solemnly Declear.d Testifie and Depose to be True that he was at Teneriff one of the Canary Islands in the Month of October Last and there saw Peter Murty who he the said James Fitzgerald well knowne to be the only son and heir at Law of Stephen Murty and Elizabeth his wife Late of Waterford aforesaid Deceased which said Stephen & Elizabeth he the said James Fitzgerald personally Knew and hath been credibley informed and beleive that the said Stephen Murty had some estate or plantann in Maryland whereas he the said ^James^ Fitchgerald hath Likewise been Informed and beleives the said Stephen Murty Dyed and the said James Fitzgerald Did further Declear and say That the Letter of attorney hereunto annexed Dated the tenth of October one thousand seven hundred and eighteen was Duely signed sealed and executed by the said Peter Murty in the Presence of him the said James Ficzgerald on the said Island of (Teneriff) |
