118) consent of the Councill and Generall Assembly of the said Province to repeal or alter any Laws whatsoever in the said Province as shall be thought fitt to be changed and to enact all such reasonable Laws and statutes for the better Government of the said Province as You with the advice and consent of the said Councill and Generall Assembly shall think fitt and expedient Provided such Laws be not repugnant to the Laws of Great Brittain nor invading of any the Prerogatives Royal Granted by the said Charter to the proprietarie of the said province which Laws You are to transmitt over for the Confirmation or Disallowance of me the said lord Baltemore And I the said Lord Baltemore and allso I the said Lord Guilford on his behalf Do hereby further Impower Constitute and appoint You to be Admirall and Captain Generall and Commander in Chief of all the forces raised or to be raised both by sea and Land within the said Province and over them to appoint proper Officers and them to amove and remove at Your Will and pleasure Provided allways that Nothing herein before contained shall be deemed construed or taken to extend or give any Power or Authority to You the said Charles Calvert to do perform act consent suffer acquiesce or agree unto any thing by |
