       This Maryland fs   Whereas Jn.o Baptista Carberry of S.t Maryes County hath
       conveyed Morgaged and made over unto Charles Carroll of the Citty of Annapolis
       Esq.r a parcell of Negroes and other slaves w.th a tract of Land now in y.e poss.t of y.e
       said Jn.o B.ta Called & known by the name of Hopton Part and the said Jn.o B.ta
       not haveing made use of the purchase mony as the deeds specified I do by these
       presents release discharge & Quit Claime to y.e slaves & Land above mentioned and
       I do Likewise exonerate acquitt & indemnifie the s.d Jn.o B.ta Carberry and his heirs
       from me and my heirs of all manner of Claim to the premises In Wittness
       whereof I have hereunto put my hand this 18.th day of March Anno 1712/3
