111 Creeke a Little above the Wadeing place of the said Creek thence down the Said Creek and bounded therewith Viz.t north sixty three degrees West fifty pole thence north ^nineteen degrees west twenty six pole thence north^ seventy eight degrees west twenty eight pole thence south forty two degrees west fifty pole thence west ninety pole thence north fifty two degrees west one hundred and forty pole thence south west fifty four Pole to the mouth of Creek Called Litle Creek thence up the said Little Creek & bounded therew.th Viz.t south east and by South twenty Pole thence south sixty one degrees east seventy six pole thence south thirty six degrees east twenty four pole thence south and by west one hundred & ten pole thence south east and by south fifty eight pole thence south and by west forty Pole thence south fifty degrees east fifty four Pole thence south eighteen degrees east one hundred & sixty six pole thence south seventeen degrees west sixty pole thence south seventeen degrees west & by east sixteen Pole thence south twenty nine degrees west forty pole to a white oak standing at the head of the afd Little Creek thence south east one hundred and two pole to a marked White Oak thence with a Right Line to the first bounder Containing and Laid out for five hundred acres And we do farther Certifie that a Jury of substantiall freeholders of Sommersett County being by the sherriff of the said County Impannelled returned and sworn before us truly to enquire assess and return what Damages and Recompence in tobacco they shall think fitt to be awarded to the owners of the three thousand acres of Land Laid out for y.e Nanticoke Indians on broad Creek and all pson Interested therein The said Jury did make their returne to us in the following words Viz.t Be it known that whereas pursuant to an Act of Assembly of this Province of Maryland made at a session of Assembly at Annapolis an Act to Impower Commissioners to appoint & Cause to be Laid out three thousand acres of Land on Broad Creek in Sommersett County for the use of the Nanticoke Indians so Long as they shall Occupy the same Wee the subscribers being sumoned for Jurors and sworn on the holy evangelists to enquire [illegible] return what damages & recompence we shall think fitt to be [illegible] owners of the Lands now Laid out for the use of the Nanticoke Indians [illegible] so Long as they shall occupy the same Wee have this day to wit the [illegible] day of Dec.r in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eleven enquired therein Of and Concerning the severall and respective persons interests as for as to the best of our knowledge we Could do upon our Oathes Judge and award unto the (True) |
