987 Secretary of our Province of Maryland in America to return into England and be absent from our said Province for the space of Eighteen Months and Whereas the said S.r Thomas Lawrence has by his humble petition represented unto us that he has sustained great Losses in his in his said office for Remedy whereof as well as the recovery of his helth (which is yet very imperfect) he having humbly besought us That we would be pleased to grant him further Leave to be absent from our s.d province dureing our Royal plasure We have thought fit to condesend to his Request and We do ac^c^ordingly hereby Grant him full Leave Licence and permission to be absent from our said province of Maryland dureing our pleasure he taking care to appoint a sufficient Deputy for the due Execution of his s.d office of Secretary dureing his absence Given at our Court at S.t James's the 31.th Day of December 1705 In the fourth yeare of our Reigne By her Maj.tys Command int.r August 30.th 1706 Affedges Hedges P Th Bordley Clk Whereas I S.r Thomas Laurence Barronet by virtue of Letters patents under the Great Seale of England have been Legally Nominated & Constituted her Maj.tys Secretary of the province of (Maryland |
