                   May the 24.th 1706

       Then came John Hawkins of of Talbott County
       Esq before me one of her Maj.tys Justices of
       the Provinciall Court and made oath that
       the annexed Bill of Exc.a for twenty pounds
       ster drawne by Richard Smith Jun.r on M.r
       John Hyde was really and bonafide delivered
       him by Cap.t Rich Smith father to the said
       Richard Smith Jun.r for a Debt instly due
       from y.e s.d Rich.d Smith Jun.r & y.t y.e two first
       Bills he believes mescarred the ships by
       whome they were sent for England being
       taken by the Enemy
