(76) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (viz.t) Aug.t the 27.th 1698 Rece.d then of the w.thin named James Heath the sume of five shillings being y.e same Moneyes Menconed to be the Consideracon of the w.thin Deed Witness p me Thomas Hackett William Palmer ℓ s d Edward Morgan 00 5 00 Thomas Halhead Thomas Halhead Citizen & Draper of London Liveing Neare S.t Autholius Church in the said City aged sixty one Yeares or there aboutes & Edward Morgan Citizen and Ironmonger of London Liveing in S.t Michaells Crooked Lane in the sd City aged sixty Nine yeares or their aboutes at the Instance and request of M.r James Heath late of London & now of the province of Maryland M.rchant Make oath upon the holy Evangelist of Almighty God to be true that they these Dep.ts Did Know ^& were intimately acquainted with^ in the County of Leicester father of Theophilus Hacket w.ch sd Theophilus Hacket was put to ^y.e^ Trade of ^a^ shoemaker & after wards viz.t in the yeare 1684 or 1685 these Dep.ts Rememb.r they were Credibly Informed that he Lived in the province of Maryland & the said Thomas Halhed of himself saith that he hath heard the said Theophilus Hackett lived in Severn River there & was Marryed to one widow Skidmore and Likewise they both these Dep.ts were informed that the said Theophilus Hacket Dyed possesed of a good Estate in the said province and further these Dep.ts say that to the best of their Knowledg all the rest of the Children of the said Thomas Hacket are Dead w.thout Issue & that the said Thomas Hacket had but one only Brother that Lived to have Issue whose Name was W.m Hacket w.ch said *Thomas Hackett of of Barrow were Loughborough |
