                                   Received of Col.o W.m Diggs
       two Severall notes Drawn by M.r Gilbert Clark
       Viz.t one upon M.r John Llewellin for nine
       thousand pounds of tobacco and one upon W.m
       Taylard for four thousand pounds of tobacco the
       which said Notes are payable to the said Col.o
       Diggs and Assignes over to me which said tob.o
       I hereby promise to use my endeavour to receive
       and be accountable for what I shall receive
       upon the same or return it [illegible] witness my
       hand the day and year afd      Richa.d Souter

                                        Which was endorsed as foll.o


                April 22 1700
       W.m Taylard deposed before me that he
       knows this rec.t was given to Col.o Diggs by
       Richard Souter and the said sumes of nine thousand
       pounds of Tobacco and four thousand pounds of tob.o
       therein was Justly and truely paid    Jurat Coram
                                                       N Blakiston


       May y.e 14.th 1696
                                    Then received of W.m Taylard ten
       thousand pounds of tobacco upon the proper Account
       and by the order of Col.o William Diggs payable
       to me for Account of Maddam Letitia Bawden
       being her procurator in this provinciall Court I say
