        Maryland fs    Know all men by these p.rsents that Wee William Bladen Edward Dorsey and Charles Carroll gent
                              are hereby held and firmly bound unto our Sovereigne Lord King William the third &c in the full & Just
                              sum of five hundred pounds sterling to the true payment whereof to be made unto our said Sovereigne Lord
                              the King his heires and successors wee bind ourselfs and every of us and every of our heires Ex.rs and Adm.rs
                              severally and joyntly for the whole and in the whole firmly by these p.rsents sealed and dated this 24.th of
                              December 1697

        The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bound William Bladen who is appoynted the Collector of the
        Port and district of Annapolis shall well and faithfully Execute the said Office and render a just and true Acconpt of
        and pay the one penny p pound by him to be received According to his Majestyes Royall Grant and Charter to the Colledge
        of William and Mary in his Collony of Virginia and observe and psue the Directions and Instructions of the Hon.ble his
        Majestyes Commissioners of the Customes thereupon and shall allsoe observe and psue all such other Instructions as he shall
        from time to time receive from the said Com.rs of the Customes in England or from his Ex.cy the Gov.r of this Province for y.e
        time being then this Obligation to be voyd otherwise in full force and virtue
