       Know all Men by these p.rsents that I Abraham Child of Maryland duely these
       p.rsents for my selfe my heirs Ex.rs or Adm.rs Remiss Release and for ever
       quitt Claime from Bartholom.w Whitehorne of London Marriner his
       Executo.rs Adm.rs or Assignes and all and all Manner of debts dues and
       demeaner whatsoever Now Oweing unto Me Either by bills bonds Accounts
       Judgments or any other Claime whatsoever Now Oweing to Mee or hereafter
       May be Oweing by Any Manner of Meanes or ways whatsoever from y.e
       begining of the world unto the day of the date hereof in wittness

       This Indenture Made the 27.th Day of Jan.ry 1692 And in the forth yeare of our soveraign
       Lord and Lady William and Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland France &
       Ireland Defend.rs of the faith &c.a Beetween Elizabeth Carter of London Widow to Edward
       Carter late of Virginia in America Esq.r Decd of the One part And Richard Bennet
       of Wey River in Talbot County in Maryland Planter of the other part Whereas
       Ceecilius Absolute Lord and proprietor of the province of Maryland & Avalon
       Lord Baron of Baltemore &c.a by A grant under the great seale of the sd province
       of Maryland dated the Thirteenth Day of Aug.t Anno Dm 1661 Certifieing as there
       in is recited Did thereby grant unto the s.d Edward Carter Assignee of Henry Meese
       of London Merchant A Tract of Land Lyeing on the East side of Chesepeck Bay
       Begining at A Marked Elm Tree standing by A point upon a small Creek Called
       Steel Creek And A great Marsh Called Meas point & Marsh runing south and
       by west down the Bay for Bredth five hundred p.rches to A Marked Oake by
       the Bay side And south east by the Bay two hundred twenty & Five p.rches
       To A Markt Locost Tree And south east and by south unto A Marked Oake
       bounding on the south by A Line drawn east from the s.d Oake One hundred
       and sixty p.rches on the east by A Line Drawn North from the End of the east
       live One thousand one hundred and Fifty p.rches on the north by A Line Drawn
       west from the end of the North line unto A Marked Pine tree on the west by the
       said Bay Containeing And then Laid out for two thousand three hundred
       Acres More or Less together with all Royalties and Priveledges Royall Mines
       Excepted Most usually belonging to Mariners in England At & for the Rent of forty
       six shillings payable unto the s.d Lord and Proprietor as the feast of Annunciation
       of the Blessed Virgin Mary And S.t Mich.ll the Archangell by Equall porcons which
       said Tract of Land was Erected into A Manner by the Name of Norton Mannor
       as in and by the sd grant More of Large May appeare And Whereas the said
       Edward Carter by A Certaine statute staple beareing date the twelveth day of
       Feb.ry 1677 was bound and firmely oblidged unto Jeremy Lawry and John
       Holland in Two thousand five hundred pounds Which sume by A Defeasance
       Dated in and about the said Ninth of Feb.ry 1677 was Covenanted to be
       for the secureing of the sume of Twelve hundred pounds to the said
       Eliz.a Carter by the Name of Eliz.a Long before her intermarrying with
       the said Edward Carter his A Joynter for the s.d Eliz.a And her heirs
