727) 737 Maryland fs Know all men by these p.rsents that Wee Thomas Collier Henry Jowles Esq.r and Francis Collier are holden and firmely bound unto his Excellency Francis Nicholson Esq.r their Maj.ties Cap.t Gen.ll and Cheife Governo.r of this Province in the full and just sume of One thousand pounds of Lawfull Money of England to be paid to the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r his Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assignes To the which payment well and truely to be Made Wee bind our selves & either of us by himselfe our & either of our heirs Ex.rs & Adm.rs joyntly and severally for the Whole and in the whole firmly by these p.rsents Wittness our hand and seales this 22.d Day of Aug.t Annoq Dm 1695 The Condicon of the above Written Obligacon is such that if Whereas his Excellency Francis Nicholson Esq.r afd hath Comissionated and appointed the said Thomas Collier To be Navall Officer for the port of William Slade and Rideing Suveyo.r within all Limitts and pricincts of the five Countys Lyeing on the Eastern shore with the said province by his Comission beareing Equall Date with these p.rsents Now if the said Thomas Collier shall well and truely performe his Duety in y.e Mannagement of the two said Offices according to the Laws of England And shall Observe the severall Act of Assembly of this Province and the directions sett downe in two Certaine proclamacons issued the one beareing date y.e 17.th Day of Aug.t Instant touching the Trade of Pensilvania & the other beareing Date the 20.th of the said Month Relateing to the Gage of tobaccoe hogsheads and from time to time save defend & keep harmless the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r from all Damages Loss and Charges that he the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r shall sustaine at any time by Reason of the said Colliers Non P.rformance of the said Offices (soe long as he shall enjoy y.e same) as in the said severall Laws is enacted and ordained & the said proclamacons is soe forth then the above Obligacon to be voyd & of None Effect Otherwise to be and Remaine in full force and vertue Tho Collier (seale) Signed Sealed & DD by the said Henry Jowles in the Hen Jowles (seale) p.rsence of Tho Grunwin Fra Collier (seale) Hen Denton and sealed & deliverd by y.e other two psons in p.rsence of Hen Denton Stephen Blatchford Know all Men by these p.rsents that Wee Edward Green and John Edmondson of the province of Maryland Gentl are holden & firmley bound unto his Excellency Francis Esq.r his Maj.ties Cap.t Gen.ll and Vice Admirell of y.e same in the full and Just sume of Five hundred pounds Lawfull Money of England to the Which paym.t Well and truly to be Made unto y.e said Francis Nicholson Esq.r his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assignes Wee bind our Selves & Each of us our and Either of our heirs Ex.rs and Adm.rs in the Whole and for the whole firmely by these p.rsents as Wittness our hand and seales this 21.st Day of Aug.t in the seaventh year of his Maj.ties Raign &c Anno Dm 1695 The Condicon of the above Obligacon is such that Whereas the above bound Edward Green hath by his humble Peticon unto his said Exc.ncy Francis Nicholson Esq.r in Councill humbly set forth that Oweing Convenient to the board side in Somerset County and Owning Most part of the Marshes sand bankes or Breakers of the Main sea soe far as the limits of the said County Extend therefore prayed |
