736 (726 Maryland fs Know all Men by these p.rsents that Wee Thomas Meeck Robert Mason and Phillip Clarke all of S.t Marys County Gentl.m are holden and firmely Bounden unto his Excellency Francis Nicholson Esq.r Cap.t Gen.ll and Governo.r in Cheife in and Over their Maj.ties Province and Territorys of Maryland in the full and just have of Three Thousand pounds sterl Lawfull Current Money of England to be paid to his said Excellency his heirs Ex.rs or Adm.rs to the which payment well and Truely to be Made Wee bind our selves and Either of us our and Either of our heirs Ex.rs or Adm.rs in the Whole and for the Whole joyntly and severally firmely by these p.rsents sealed with our seales Dated in Maryland the Twenty Eighth Day of June Annoq Dm 1695 The Condition of this Obligacon is Such that Whereas his said Excellency hath this Day Given and Granted unto the above bounden Thomas Meech a Comission to be Comand.r of the Speedwell of Maryland And therewith to Cruise on the Coast of Maryland and Pensilvania to p.rvent and hinder such false and Illegale Traders Which doe or shall Trade on the Coast or into Either of the said Provinces Contrary to the Acts of Trade and Navigation If therefore the above bounden Thomas Meeck shall well and truely Execute the Severall powers and Authorityes to him therein Given and Granted and soe the severall Acts of Trade and Navigacon be Duely Kept and Observed without Fraude or Covin and Doe Well and truely prosecute Offenders and Offences ag.t the said Acts or any of them And doe Well and truely behave himselfe in the Execucon of the severall powers And Authorityes by the said Comission Given him And Doe from time to time & at all times hereafter save and Keep harmless and Indemnified his said Excellency his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs for or By Reason of Any Act or thing by the said Tho.s to be Done or p.rformed or Omitted to be don or p.rformed by vertue of the torn.en aforesaid Then this Obligacon to be voyd & of None Effect Else to stand in full force and vertue Signed Sealed and Delivered Tho.s Meech (seale) in p.rsence of us Rob.t Mason (seale) E M Randolph Philip Clarke (seale) Ilen Druton W Bladen Maryland fs Know all Men by these p.rsents that Wee Sam.ll Watkins of the Province of Maryland Gent And Robert Smith and Robert Mason Esq.rs Are holden and firmely bound unto his Excellency Francis Nicholson Esq.r their Maj.ties Cap.t Gen.ll and Cheife Governo.r of this Province in the full and just sume of one thousand pounds of Lawfull Money of England to be paid to the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r his heirs Ex.rs or Adm.rs or Assignes to the which payment well and Truely to be Made Wee bind our selves and either of us by himselfe our and Either of our heirs Executo.rs and Adm.rs Joyntly and severally for the whole and in the whole firmely by these p.rsents Wittness our hands and seales this 20.th day of Aug.t Anno Dm 1695 The Condicon of the above Written Obligacon is such that Whereas his Excell.cy Francis Nicholson Esq.r aforesaid hath Comissionated and appointed the said Sam.ll Watkins to be Navell Officer for the district of Pattuxent River within the said Province by his Comission beareing Equall Date w.th these p.rsents there if the said Sam.ll Watkins shall well and truely performe the said Office According to the severall Acts of Parliment in that Case Made and provided and shall observe y.e Directions Contained in the Acts of Assembly of this province Relateing to the Duty of Navall Officers & from time to time save defend & Keep harmless the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r from all Damages Loss & Charges that he the sid Francis Nicholson Esq.r shall sustaine at any time by Reason of y.e said Watkins Nouper Francure of his said Office (soe long as he shall enjoy the same) As in the said severall Laws is Enacted and ordained then the above Obligacon to be voyd & of None Effect otherwise to be and remaine in full force and vertue Sealed & Deliverd in S Watkins (seale) the p.rsence of Robert Smith (seale) Jo.n Hammond Robert Mason (seale) Rich.d Hill |
