675) 685 This Indenture made the Three and Twentieth day of February Anno Dom 1693 Between Thomas Tench of Ann Arundell County Esq.r Administ.r of the goods Chells & Creditts of Lyonell Copley Esq.r deced of the one part and Christopher Gwinn of Saint Marys County Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Tench for and in Consideration of the sume of Twelve pounds sterl to him in hand paid by the said Christopher Gwinn the receipt whereof the said Thomas Tench doth hereby acknowledge Have demised leassed and granted & to farme And by these presents doe demise lease grant & to farme lett and sett unto the said Christopher Gwinn All that tract or parcell of Land and plantation lying in S.t Maryes County comonly called potters plantation together with all houses Gardens and Orchards thereunto belonging To have and to hold the said Tract of Land plantation and houses unto him the said Christopher Gwinn his heirs Executors Adm.rs & Assignes for and during the full end and terme of five years to comence from the last day of October thence fully to be compleat & ended Yeilding & paying therefore yearly unto the said Thomas Tench one ear of Indian Corne if Lawfully demanded And the said Christopher Gwinn doth Covenant promise and agree for himselfe his heirs Executo.rs and Adm.rs to and with the said Thomas Tench his Executo.rs Adm.rs and Assignes by these p.rsents that he the said Christopher Gwinn shall during the said terme keepe the aforesaid plantation houses and p.rmisses in good tenantable repaire as he now receive the same And the said Thomas Tench for himselfe his Executo.rs & Administrat.rs doe promise that the said Christopher Gwinn shall have hold and enjoy the said Plantation for and during the aforesaid terme without any lett hindrance or molestation whatsoever from by or under him the said Thomas Tench his Executo.rs Adm.rs or Assignes In Witness whereof the said Thomas Tench have hereunto sett his hand & seale the day and year aforesaid The within mention'd was sealed Thomas Tench and delivered in the presence of May 15.th 1694 H Denton Then Came the within named Thomas Tench Esq.r and in W Taylard open Court acknowledged the within mentioned to the within named Christopher Gwinn according to Act of Assembly in that first made and provided Recorded 3.o Augusti 1694 Henry Wriothesley Clk Maryland fs: This Indenture made the Fifteenth day of May Anno Dm 1694 Between W.m Taylard of S.t Maryes County Gent on the one part and Robert Mason of the same County Merchant on the other part Witnesseth that the said William Taylard for and in Consideration of the sume of Eleaven thousand pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid before the ensealing hereof by the said Robert Mason The receipt whereof doth hereby acknowledge accordingly and himselfe therewith fully satisfied and thereof and of every part thereof doth clearly acquit and discharge the said Robert Mason his heirs Execut.rs & Adm.rs and every of them for ever by these presents Hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully clearely and absolutely Give grant bargaine sell alien enfeoffe and confirme unto the said Robert Mason & his heirs for ever All that tract or parcell of Land called Bloomesburry Land and being upon Potomack River on the west side of poplar hill binding on the East with the Land of John Wade on the North with a Lyne drawne North west and by west for the length of Eighty perches to a marked oake standing on the Topp of a hill near the head of James Johnstons Runn on the west and south with the said Johnstons Runn and Creek late in the possession of Thomas Canyon conteyning and laid out (for |
