684 (674 This Indenture made the Ninth day of May Anno Dom 1694 and in the sixth year of the Reign of our soveraigne Lord & Lady King William and Queene Mary &c Between Mary Sempile of Talbot County Widdow of the One part and William Taylard of the S.t Marye County Gent of the other part Witnesseth that the said Mary Sempile for and in Consideration of the sume of foure thousand pounds of good sound M.rchantable tobacco & in Caske to her in hand before the sealing hereof satisfyed and payd the receipt whereof she doth hereby Acknowledge and from the same discharges the said William Taylard Hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargaine and sell unto the said William Taylard his heires Execut.rs and Assignes for Ever all that Messuage of Cond Tenement or dwelling House comonly called the printing house together with the Lott or Lotts of Land thereunto belonging scituate lyeing and being in S.t Maryes Citty of Towne in S.t Maryes County aforesaid which said house was erected and built by one William Blankensteine late of S.t Maryes County Gent and taken up by him according to an Act of Assembly of this Province intituled an Act for advancement of trade to have and to hold the same Lott of Land house and p.rmisses unto him the said William Taylard his heires and Assignes for ever And to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever And said Mary Sempile for her self her heires Executors Adm.rs and Assignes doe hereby warrant and defend the same Lott of Land house and p.rmisses unto the said William Taylard his heires Executors and Assignes for Ever as aforesaid of and from all manner of Pson or Psons whatsoever clayming or to Clayme any estate right title or interest of in or unto the same from by or under her them or any of them And lastly the said Mary Sempile for her self her heires and Assignes Execut.rs and Adm.rs doth Covent promise and agree to and with said William Taylard his heires & Assignes if occasion hereafter shall require to make a more firme and sure Conveyance in Case as shall be thought of itt of the aforesaid house and p.rmisses unto him the s.d William Taylard his heires and Assignes as he shall or may be advised And further The said Mary Sempile doe for her selfe hereby Constitute nominate and appointe M.r Samuell Watkins of Calvert County Gent my true and Lawfull Attorney for me and in my name to do Before (any Judges or Court Judicature) in the Provintiall Court S.t Maryes Citty Court or before the County Court of S.t Maryes County (or otherwise as the Case require and to acknowledge these presents to be my Act and Deed and Lott of Land house and p.rmisses aforesaid to be the right of him the said William Taylard his heires and Assignes for ever according to the true intent & meaning of these presents hereby the said Mary Sempile doe ratifie & confirme the same to be good in Law as if she her self were then psonnally prsent In Witness whereof the said Mary Sempile have hereunto sett her hand & seale the day and year abovesaid Sealed & delivered her in the p.rsence of Mary m Sempile Sealed Tho Grunwin mark M.d 9.th day of May 1694 Came Samuell Watkins (before their Majestyes Justices in the Henry Loftus Provintiall Court and according to the powers & Authorityes within mentioned to him granted) and acknowledged the within mentioned Deed to be is right and property of the within named William Taylard Record 3.o Augusti 1694 as of the grant of the within named Mary Sempile according to the Law of this Province in such case made and provided Taken and acknowledged in open Court the day and year aforesaid Henry Wriothesley Clk |
