649) 659 Att the Court at Whitehall the second day of March 1692/3 P.rsent The Kings Most Excellent Maj.ty in Councill The Right Hon.ble the Lords of the Comittee of Trade and plantacon haveing humbly Reported to his Maj.ty That they had considered the peticon of S.t Thomas Laurence sec.ry of Maryland complayning of some hard shipps he Eyes under in relacon to his Office and that their Lopp haveing Examined the same are humbly of opinion that as to the security demanded of him for the due Execucon of his Office he doe give his owne personall security in one thousand pounds and that each of the Tenn County Clerks doe give one hundred pounds security for the due performance of their respective places That the Act for regulateing of Ordinarys of their whereby the benefitt of Lycences for Ordinarys formerly belonging to the Secretary is given to the Governo.r may be disallowed by his Maj.ty That the Order of the Governo.r and Councill of Maryland of the 17.th of August last by which the Chancery Writts that have beene alwayes issueable out of the Secretarys Office are appoynted to be issued out of the Chancery and the Fees thereof to be payd to the Chancello.rs may be sett aside and the benefitt of issueing these writts doe remaine to the sec.ry according to Act of Assembly That their Lops doe not find cause for any alteracon in reference to the Fees of the Navall Officer as at p.rsent setled by an Act of Assembly in consideracon of the trust reposed in the Gov.r for the Execucon of that office His Maj.ty in Councill this day please to approve thereof and to order as it is hereby ordered that the said S.r Thomas Laurence doe enjoy the full benefitt of his Office of Secretary of Maryland according to his letters pattents upon giveing his owne personall security in One thousand pounds and that each of the Tenn County Clerks doe give One hundred pounds security for the due performance of their respective places That the Act intituled and Act for regulateing ordinarys passed in the Assembly held in Maryland the Tenth day of May last And an Order of Councill dated the 17.th of August following concerning Chancery Writts Bee as they are hereby sett aside and disallowed And the benefitt of issueing those writts doe remaine to the Sec.ry according to y.e act of Assembly That there be noe alteracon in reference to the Fees of the Navall Officer as at p.rsent setled by an Act of Assembly in Maryland in Consideracon of the trust reposed in the Gov.r for the due Execucon of that office And that the severall perticulers proposed in the said Report be duely complyed with by all persons whome it may concerne Recorded 25.th Sept 1693 William Blathwayte |
