589) 599 Warrant or Direction in that behalfe Given at our Court at Whithall the Eighth Day of January 1691 in the third yeare of our Reign by his Maj.ties Comand John Lowther R Hamseden George Plater to be Rec.dr of theire Maj.ties Revenues at Patuxent River in Maryland Slessox Int.r 23.d December 1692 T Pelham By This Publick Instrument of Procuration Bee it knowne and manifest to all People That on the sixteenth day of December in the third yeare of the Reigne of William & Mary King and Queen of England &c.a Anno Domini 1691 Before me Josiah Jones Notary & Tabellion Publick by royall authority admitted and sworne dwelling in this Citty of London and in the presence of the Wittnesses after menconed Personnally appeared John Shelton Cittyzen and sadler of London (to me Notary well knowne who hath made ordained and in his stead and place hath putt and constituted and by these p.rsents doth make ordaine and in his stead and place doth put and constitute George Plater M.rchant and Collector of their Maj.ties Customes at Potuxan in Maryland to be his true & Lawfull Attorny Giveing unto him full power authority and speciall charge For in the Name and to the use of him constituent to ask demand leavy recover & receive of and from Mathew Scarbrough of Maryland aforesaid m.rchant and other p.rson and p.rsons whatsoever in Maryland and Virginia or either of the said places whom it doth or may of right concerne all and singular such sum and sumes of Money debts Goods Wares M.rchandizes Effects and things whatsoever as the said Scarbrough or any other p.rson or p.rsons whatsoever in Maryland and Virginia afsd or either of the said places now doth or doe and hereafter shall owe and be indebted to the said constituent Bee the ariseing by Judgment Bond Bill Book debt special accompt covenant contract promise assignment of Goods or other wise howsoevr nothing excepted nor reserved Together with all costs damages and interest Also to compound and agree by arbitracon or other wise if and as occasion shall require and to accompt with and Demand and take accompt of the said Mathew Scarbrough or anÿ other p.rson or p.rsons whatsoever in Maryland and Virginia afsd or either of the sd places whom it doth or may concerne touching the p.rmisses of the Recoveries and Receipts Compositions and agreem.ts acquittances or other sufficient Discharges for and in the name of the sd constiuent to make subscribe seale and deliver and if need be to appear in all courts and before all Lords Judges and Justices there to defend answear and Reply to all Matters and Causes touching the p.rmisses And to pursue implead seize sequester attach arrest imprison and to condemne and out of prison againe (whom need shall be) to deliver; Likewise one attorney or more with like or limitted power under him to make and substitute and the same at pleasure to revoke, And Generally in and concerning the p.rmisses and the dependency thereof to doe say transact and accomplish all and whatsoever the said constituent himselfe might or could doe personally although the Matter required more speciall authority than herein is comprized the said constituent hereby Promising to have hold ratify confirme and also of as good |
