458 (448 Knowe all men by these p.rsents That I George Thompson of S.t Maryes County in the Province of Maryland gent am held & firmely bound to John Brome of Calvert County in the Province aforesaid Inn Holder in the full & Just sume of Twenty two Thousand pounds of good sound & every way well Condiconed M.rchantable Tobacco & Casque to bee paid to the said John Brome or to his Certaine Attorney his Heires Exec.rs Adm.rs or Assignes to which paym.t well & truely to bee made & donne I bind my selfe my Heires Exec.rs & Adm.rs firmely by these p.rsents sealed with my seale Dated the Eighth day of Aprill Annoq Dom 1687 The Condiccon of this p.rsent above written Obligacon is such That if the above bounded George Thompson his Heires Exec.rs & Adm.rs & every of them shall & doe from time to time & att all times forever hereafter well & truely observe performe fullfill & keep all & singuler the Covenants grants Articles Clauses and Agreements menconed Contained & Expressed in one certaine Indenture of bargaine & sale or feoffment beareing even date with these p.rsents & made betweene the above bounden George Thompson of the one part & the aforesaid John Brome of the other part which on the part & behalfe of the said George Thompson his Heires Exec.rs & Adm.rs & every of them are & ought to bee observed performed fullfilled & kept and that in & by all things according to the true intent & meaneing of these p.rsents Respectively in all points & Condiccons that then this p.rsent above written Obligacon shall bee void & of none Effect otherwise shall stand & Remaine in full power force strength & vertue Signed sealed & George Thompson (sealed delivered in the p.rsence of March the 2.d 1687 Geo Parker R Tull Clk Edw Boothbey Hen Denton W.m Taÿlord Maryland ss Whereas Maj.r Thomas Taylor of Dorchester is owing to me by bill under his hand & seale & long since due & payable for the sume of Tenn thousand pounds of Tobacco And whereas I have formerly declared that I would for & towards the helping of my Neice Elizabeth Chand^l^er in her widowhood give her the aforesaid sume of 10000.ℓℓ of Tobacco And whereas the said Eilizabeth is since & before the said debt paid or the property thereof altered Married to Cap.t George Brent Notwithstanding I am yet free & willing the said debt shall goe to two of the Children of the said Elizabeth by Coll Chandler her late Husband vizt William Chandler & Jane Chandler to whome I give the same to be Equally devided betweene them And therefore I doe hereby Constitute and appoynte Thomas Grunwin to Recover by all Lawfull wayes & meanes whatsoever the aforesaid debt from the said Maj.r Taylor without any Accompt to be thereof given to me but for the use & Accompt of the aforesaid Children and the survivour of them And for that the bill must be sued in my Name I doe hereby Engage not to barr or release any accompt brought upon the premisses Witnesse my hand & seale this 28.th of September 1687 Sealed & delivered in the p.rsence of Record.d the 2.d March 1687 Vincent Lowe (sealed Clement Hill R Tull Clk W.m Digges |
