399) 408 To & with the Right hon.ble Charles Lord Baltimore or any other person or persons owners or proprietors there off or otherwise for the purchase off the Fee & Inher^it^ance off all thatt peice off or parcell off Land of ground scituated Lyeing and being in a Certain place Called Mattapanÿ in Calvert County aforesaid Giveing and by those presents Granting unto my said attornÿ full power and Authoritÿ Concerning the premises respectively to act & doe in the same as to mÿ said attornÿ should seeme meet & Convenient Ratifyeing and there by Confirming and allowing Whatt soever mÿ said attornÿ should doe or cause to be done in and about The premisses or any off off them Respectively as fullÿ and Effectually to all Intents and purposes as I mÿ selfe could doe iff I were personally presant as by the same Letter of Attornÿ Relacon being thereunto had maÿ More att Large appear And Whereas alsoe the said Henrÿ Darnall pursuant to The authoritÿ aforesaid by me given and by mÿ Letter Explained My Meaning to be to sell and dispose off all my right title and Interest in & to the said parcell off Land Called Mattapanÿ to such person or persons as he my said Attornÿ should approve off for the best proffit and advantage could be Made Theroff he the said Henrÿ Darnall hath Contracted with Nicholas Sewall off Calvert Countÿ aforesaid Esq.r for the same off the said Land to him the said Nicholas his heires and assignes for Ever for the Consideracon off the sume off one hundred & Eightÿ pounds off Lawfull Monÿ off England to be paid & well & sufficiently secured to be payd to me the said Robert Brooke Mÿ Lawfull attornÿ Ex.rs adm.rs or assignes att ÿearly payements by thirty pounds off Like Lawfull Monÿ off England by the year Untill the said sume off one hundred & Eightÿ pounds be fullÿ payd and satisfyed the first payment to beging att or before the tenth daÿ off August one thousand six hundred Eightÿ six and Whereas alsoe itt was Mÿ reall and true intent and meaning thatt the monÿ raised by sale off the said Land should be by my said attornÿ my said father in Law Henrÿ Darnall Esq.r aforesaid should be him paÿd and Laid outt for and towards the Mayntenance schooling and Education off My Brothers Ignatius and Matthew Brooke Butt y.e said Letter of attornÿ Nott being soe fullÿ and authentiquelÿ penned or proved as the Law in these Cases doth require Now Know yee Thatt I the said Brooke for and In Consideracon off the Love and affection I beare towards my said Brothers and for supplying all [illegible] In Mÿ Letter of Attornÿ and authority aforesaid doe by these presents Make Ordaine authorize constitue and appoint the said Henrÿ Darnall My true and Lawfull attornÿ for me and in mÿ Name to proceed to the perfecting and accomplishing the Contract by him for me and in mÿ Name begunn with the said Nicholas Swell his heires & assignes for Ever The sale off the said Land Called Mattapanÿ and all mÿ right title & Interest in or to the same or any part or parcell thereoff to him the said Nicholas Swell his heires and assignes for Ever and the Deed & Deeds Conveyance and Conveyances for y.e same for me and in my Name to aknowledge before anÿ Judges or Justices or in anÿ Court in the said province for the taking such acknowledgements and Recording or in rolling such deed & Deeds Conveyance or Conveyances for the estateing the said Land in him the said Nicholas Sewell his heires and assignes for Ever and the Counterparts off the same for Me and in mÿ Name to accept and receive and the Consideracon aforesaid for the purchase off the premisses aforesaid and the securityes for the same to be paid yearly |
