287 (277 On the backside of the foregoeing deed was thus written Memorandum That this six & twentieth day of October in the yeer of Our Lord 1682 Came before us two of his Lopps Justices of the provinciall Court W.m Holmes & Frances his wife & Robert Carvile ptyes to these p.rsents & acknowledged the within written Indenture to be their proper acts & deeds And the said Frances being by us alone & secretly examined according to the forme of a Certaine Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided Did acknowledge the Lands & premises in the within written deed mentioned to be the right of the said John Baker within named As of the guift of them the said William Frances & Robert & have for them & their heires remised & made quitt Claime thereof to the said John Baker his heires & Assignes for ever Vincent Lowe William Burges This Indenture made the fifth day of the Ninth month Called November in the yeere one thousand six hundred eighty & three Betweene William Sharp of Talbott County in the province of Maryland of the one partie & Francis Billingsly Richard Johns John Pardo & William Harris all of the Clifts in Calvert County planters of the other partie Wittnesseth that the said William Sharp for divers good Causes & Considerations him thereunto moveing but Especially for & in Consideration of the sume of twelve pence sterling in hand paid by the said Richard Johns with Consent & on behalfe of himself & partners to the said William Sharp the receipt whereof by these presents the said William Sharp doth Confesse & acknowledge himself fully satisfyed of every part & parcell thereof & from every part & parcell thereof the said William Sharp doth Exonerate acquitt & discharge & for ever release them the said Francis Billingsly Richard Johns John Pardoe & William Harris their heires & Assignes for ever have exhonerated granted allienated sold & enfeoffed & from himself his heires & assignes doth by these presents grant bargaine sell Allien & firme & infeoffe all that one parcell of Land Lying upon the Clifts in Calvert County aforesaid being part of a parcell of Land Called Garyes Chance Conteyning six hundred acres more or Lesse & now in the tenor or occupation of the said William Sharp beginning att a Locust post on the East with a Line drawne west twelve perches to a marked post for breadth & from the said post with a line drawne north twenty perches to another post for Length & to East for twelve perches to a Locust post & to south twenty perches to the first marked post Conveyning & now Laid out for one acre & halfe of Land be the said little more or Lesse together with all rights priveledges waies Easments proffitts & Appurtenances to the same belonging to have and to hold the said one Acre & halfe of Land to them the said Francis Billingsly Richard Johns John Pardo & William Harris their heires & Assignes for ever to their owne proper use & behoofe & to the uses & behoofes hereafter mentioned & Conteyned that is to say that the people of God Commonly Called Quakers shall have right & priveledge from tyme to tyme to meet upon the said ground a houre there to errect & build & their att pleasure to meet & bury their dead & from time to time the house to maintaine & repaire & inlarge their graves & fences to keep up & repaire & all their severall meetings there to keep & peaceably to enioy from time to time & for ever without the Lett suit trouble mollestation vexation or any other Incumbrances of any kind or Nature whatsoever of from or by them their heires or Assignes or any other person or persons whatsoever Claiming any right title priveledge or Intrest by or from them the said Francis Billingsly Richard Johns John Pardo & William harris their Heires Executo.rs Adm.rs & Assignes for ever & the said William Sharp doth farther Covenant for himself his heires & Assignes & to & with the said Francis Billingsly Richard Johns John Pardo & William Harris their heires Executo.rs Adm.rs & Assignes that he hath a true Right & title Intrest & lawfull possession to & in the said Land so to allienate sell & dispose & doth by vertue of these presents so sell allienate & dispose from him his heires & Assignes all that said parcell & tract of Land Conteyning in quantity one Acre & halfe bounded as abovesaid to the said Francis Billingsly Richard Johns John Pardo & William Harris their heires & Assignes |
