(218) 228 Know all men by these p.rsents That I George Gunnell of the County of Baltemore in the Province of Maryland Chirurgeon am holden and firmely bound unto James Philips & Thomas Cannon both of the County & Province aforesaid Gent with full sume and Just quantity of One hundred and Twenty thousand pounds of good sound Merchantable Tobacco and Caske to be paid to them the said James Philips and Thomas Cannon or to their Certaine Attorneys Executo.rs Adm.rs or Assignes To which payment well and truely to be made I binde my selfe my heires Executo.rs and Adm.rs firmely by these p.rsents sealed with my seale Dated the thirteenth day of August in the fifth year of the Dominion of Charles Lord Baron of Baltemore &c Annoq.r Dom 1680 The Condicon of this Obligacon is such That whereas the above named James Philips and Thomas Cannon did att the speciall instance and request of the above bound George Gunell together w.th the said George as Suretys for the said George Enter into our bond or Obligacon to the Rtt honoble Charles Lord Baltemore &c bearing date the second day of August One thousand six hundred & Eighty in the penalty of sixty thousand pounds of Tobacco with Condicon there under written for the said George Gunnells due Admistracon of the Estate of Edward Gunnell deced as by the same Obligacon & Condicon may appeare If therefore the said George Gunnell his heires Exec.rs Adm.rs or Assignes and every of them doe att all times hereafter and from tyme to tyme Clearly acquitt and discharge or otherwise sufficiently save and keep harmless the said James Philips & Thomas Cannon their heires Executo.rs & Adm.rs & every of them and all their goods and Chattles and every part and parcell of them against all persons whatsoever of and for Entring into the said bond and of & from all accons suites Costs troubles Demands Execucons & Damages whatsoever that shall or may arise or growe touching or Concerning the p.rmisses or any of them in any matter or wise whatsoever That then this Obligacon to be voyd and of none Effect or else to stand in full force and Vertue Sealed & Delivered George Gunnell (sealed) in the p.rsence of us Daniel Carnell signum September 29.th 1681 Hugh H Williams Then
