(121) 130 Richard Calvert Witnesses John Bawden (sealed) Porten Paul Rich Calvert Coq in pre Diu J Browne In testimonium veritatis signum et Sigillum Tabelionat mei apposui Rogatus Josias Jones Publi Not Locus sigilly On the side ^backeside^ of a Deed of Conveyance of Two hundred acres of Land Called Saint Talbers lying in Transquakeing River in Somersett County sold by George Anderson unto Alexander Draper was thus written (Viz.t) February 24.th 1678/9 Then Alexander Draper made Oath before me that he is Deprived of the within menconed Land by Virtue of Another Pattent of an older date Sworne before me William Stevens Whereas the within mentioned Alexander Draper hath been deprived of the Land made over unto him by this Conveyance by an Elder Pattent of John Anderson I have thought fitt to grant as I doe hereby grant unto the said Draper liberty to take the quantity of Two hundred Acres of Land where he shall thinke fitt to take the same Given under my hand this Twentieth October One thousand six hundred seaventy Nine To the Secry at S.t Maryes or in C Baltemore his absence to M.r Nicholas Painter Know all men by these p.rsents that I John Penroy of Deptford neare London Maryn.r have assigned ordained and made and in my stead and place put and Constituted my trusty and well beloved Brother Thomas Penroy late of saint Pauls in upper Shadwell in London and now of Saint Maryes County in the province of Maryland Marryner to be my true and Lawfull attorney for me and in my name and to my use to aske sue for Leavy recover and Receive of all and every person and persons whatsoever w.thin the said province all and every such debts dues tobacco sume and sumes of money goods wares and Marchandizes as are now due unto me or w.ch at any day or dayes time or times hereafter shall be due oweing belonging or appertayning unto me by any manner of wayes or meanes whatsoever Giveing & Granting unto my said Attornye by the tenor of these p.rsents my full and whole power strength & authority in and about the premisses and upon receipt of any such debts dues Tobacco sume or sumes of money goods wares or Merchandizes as aforesaid acquittances or other discharges for me and in my name to make seale and deliver and all and every other act & acts thing and things device and devices in the Law whatsoever needfull & necessary to bee done in or about the p.rmisses for the recovery of any such debts dues tobacco sume or sumes of money goods wares or Marchandizes as aforesaid for me and in my name to doe execute & pforme as fully Largely and amply in every respect to all intents constructions and purposes as I my self might or could doe if I were personally p.rsent Rattifying & allowing holding firme and stable all and whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully doe or Cause to be done in or about y.e execucon of the same by vertue of these p.rsents In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the second day of May in the yeare of our Lord god 1679 Sealed and delivered in y.e presence of W.m Hatton & Richard Lloyd John Penroy (Sealed) October y.e 9.th 1679 Came William Hatton and made Oath y.t he saw the above named John Penroy seale signe and deliver the above Letter of Attorney as his act and deed for then soe therein menconed Juravit Coram me W.m Calvert |
