Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 2-7(f) of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 33 — Election Code
2-7.
(f) Each board shall have power to fix the
compensation of judges within the limits of the amounts
authorized for this purpose by the county commissioners,
county council or the mayor and city council of
Baltimore, as the case may be, provided that compensation
shall not be less than twenty dollars ($20.00) per day
for each day actually served. In Allegany County the
compensation shall not be less than thirty dollars
($30.00) per day for each day actually served. In
Baltimore City, the compensation of judges of elections
shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per day for each election
day; except that judges who have not received the course
of instruction prescribed by the board of supervisors of
elections shall have compensation of forty dollars
($40.00) per day for each election day. In Prince
George's County, judges shall be paid at the rate of
seventy—five dollars ($75.00) per day for two chief
judges and fifty dollars ($50.00) per day for judges, for
each election day actually served. IN WASHINGTON COUNTY,
CHIEF JUDGES SHALL BE PAID $45 PES DAY FOR EACH ELECTION
DAY, PLUS A MILEAGE ALLOWANCE AS DETERMINED BY THE BOARD;
JUDGES SHALL BE PAID $35 PER DAY FOR EACH ELECTION DAY;
AND GUARDS SHALL BE PAID $25 PER DAY FOR EACH ELECTION
DAY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
