BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

Section 341(a) and 467(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 341(a) and 467(a) of Article 27 -
Crimes and Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

341.

(a) If any person shall steal, take or carry away
personal goods of another under the value of [one hundred
dollars] $100 and being thereof convicted he shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall restore the
goods and chattels so stolen or pay the full value
thereof to the owner [thereof], and be fined not more
than [one hundred dollars] $100 or imprisoned for not
more than [eighteen] 18 months [in the house of
correction or jail], or both fined and imprisoned;
provided that all actions or prosecutions [hereunder]
UNDER THIS SECTION shall be commenced within two years
after the commission of [said] THE offense.

467.

(a) Every person [who shall be] convicted of the
crime of receiving any stolen money, goods or chattels,
under the value of [one hundred dollars] $100, knowing
[the same] IT to be stolen or of the crime of receiving
any bond, bill obligatory, bill of exchange, promissory
note for the payment of money, bank note, paper bill of
credit, or certificate granted by or under the authority
of this State, or the United States, or any of them,
under the value of [one hundred dollars] $100, knowing
[the same] IT to be stolen, shall restore [such] THE
money, goods or chattels or things taken and received to
the owner [thereof] or make restitution to the value of
the whole or [such] THE part [thereof as shall not be]
WHICH IS NOT restored and being [thereof] convicted he
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be
fined not more than [two hundred dollars] $100 or
imprisoned for not more than [three years in the house of
correction or jail] 18 MONTHS, or both fined and
imprisoned; provided that all actions or prosecutions
