CHAPTER 70

(Senate Bill 20)

AN ACT concerning

Historic Zoning and Preservation

FOR the purpose of stating the power of chartered
counties and Baltimore City to enact laws for
historic zoning and preservation, taking such power
an express power for chartered counties, [[and]]
validating certain prior ordinances, laws, acts, and
proceedings providing for the effect of the
Maryland—Washington Regional District Act, and
generally relating to historic zoning.

Section 8.01 (a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 5(BB) be and it is hereby
added to Article 25A — Chartered Counties of Maryland, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume
and 1974 Supplement) to read as follows:
