AN ACT to repeal and reenact Subtitle 36 of the
Prince George's County Code of Public Local Laws, 1963
Edition, in order to provide for regulations governing
the transportation of garbage and sludge in and through
Prince George's County and providing appropriate criminal
penalties for violation of the subtitle.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MARYLAND, That the Prince
George's Code of Public Local Laws, 1963 Edition, and the
Prince George's County Code of Ordinances and
Resolutions, 1967 Edition, be and the same is hereby
repealed and reenacted to read as follows:
SUBTITLE 36
GARBAGE
SECTION 36-1. Regulations
(a) Definitions. For the purpose of and as used
in this Section, the term "garbage" shall mean the
entrails or waste products of any animal, fish or fowl,
SLUDGE, refuse animal or vegetable matter from a kitchen,
market, store, or abbatoir, or any admixture of these
materials with other refuse or feeding material.
FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE, SLUDGE IS DEFINED
AS ANY AND ALL RESIDUE, PRODUCT OR BY-PRODUCT WHETHER
SOLID, LIQUID OR OTHERWISE AND WHETHER TREATED OR
UNTREATED OF A WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY OR SEWAGE
TREATMENT FACILITY.
(b) Transportation; feeding to hogs. No garbage
shall be transported over any public highway or street of
Prince George's County except to incinerators, approved
municipal [dumps,] WASTE ACCEPTANCE FACILITIES, in said
County, or to destinations outside the limits of Prince
George's county, or to farms in Prince George's County
for the use in the feeding of hogs, and no garbage shall
be fed to hogs except in concrete or other water—tight
containers, the feed containers to be washed and cleaned
at least once in every twenty—four hours, and no such
feeding place shall be located closer than 2,000 feet of
any residence, except the residence of the owner or
